Lily @ Seven Months! Finally Fall!

Almost 6 months to the day, Lily started crawling!  At first it was just a military inchworm scoot that allowed her to reach the toy that was just out of grasp.  And she was absolutely thrilled!  Within two weeks she has steadily picked up speed and can deftly tip from sitting to her tummy and take off pretty quickly.  She can quickly move from the living room to the kitchen if she wants to find you!  Two weeks in, she has already managed to pull to standing in the bathtub and is continually trying to replicate the feat.

Lily LOVES bath time.  When she hears the sound of running water she starts happily flapping her arms and makes excited noises.  And she LOVES splashing!  The last bath she was so excited to be able to crawl around the bathtub she was crawling in laps back and forth making happy noises.

She is a laid back baby and willing to go with the flow, far more than Hannah ever was, but I think she has some grit and defiance in there. We've seen a few glimmers of her willingness to stand up for herself against Hannah. We were in a restaurant and Lily was happily nomming on one of her favorite toys (Sophie the giraffe) and Hannah tried to grab it from her, like she all too frequently does with other toys, and Lily actually growled at Hannah and snatched it back! We were speechless. I'm sure it's just the beginning.

Some more pictures from around the house and hanging out as we enjoyed our fall.

Hannah's love and excitement for Halloween and the fall activities these past few weeks have made us that much more excited about all of the other upcoming holidays that we think she will enjoy even more! She's excited about the colorful trees, pumpkins, costumes, just all of it. Her grandmother brought her a black beanie boo kitty cat for Halloween that she has been carrying around the house and sleeping with every day. We almost lost him because she had put him in the oven of the toy kitchen in the basement and couldn't find him for hours! Each day when we leave preschool we have to go to a tree in the parking lot that has a knotted pipe cleaner hanging from a branch and pet the caterpillar. If we don't, she has a complete melt down. (even if she forgets...but realizes it once we are driving). Hannah has also taken to asking "Mommy what are you doing?  Daddy what are you doing?" and then waiting for use to ask "Hannah what are YOU doing?"

Hannah's first of many birthday parties for school friends

We also got away and enjoyed a three day weekend in New Jersey, catching up with family, and enjoying an all-too overdue and much needed date out with my cousin and his wife while my Grandmother and Aunt Mary-Michele watched the girls.  The weather was beautiful and the kids had a great time!  We even celebrated an early Thanksgiving with a delicious dinner too.
She seemed as captivated by Claypit Creek as I always was

Loving the automatic up and down features of the recliner

By the end of this month, you could really see her face changing and getting longer!

Real life...Hannah helping herself to a snack with supervision while I nurse Lily.

She is enjoying "real" food more and more!

Hannah loves her new playground that we built in the basement.
Offering the very sad llama who misses his mama a bottle to help him feel better.  She's very worried about the fact that he is crying.  *love*

This picture about sums it all up - we are having fun and enjoying each other and relishing the weather, but continually feel scattered and struggle to feel together...all the time. Tired, but happy and loving our fall family time.
